NWCA donates mobile coffee Kiosks to selected farmers from across the Northwest Region
The NWCA donated 5 mobile kiosks to selected individuals from some 5 of its member unions in a grandiose ceremony held on Wednesday 12th March 2025 at its head office in Mile 3 Nkwen.
This donation was given as part of activities to mark the closing of the “ICAO–NWCA Coffee Entrepreneurship and Inclusion Project” funded by The International Cooperative Agricultural Organisation (ICAO) and executed with support from MINADER which has been ongoing since its conception in July of 2024 as a culmination of GM Waindim Timothy’s completion of a secondment program in Seoul, South Korea in February 2024.

These 5 individuals who were selected following the 2-day workshop for women and youth coffee farmers in the Northwest Region hosted by the NWCA between the 18th and 19th of December 2024, were each given a mobile coffee kiosk stocked with all the essentials they require to startup a simple mobile coffee business including cooking utensils, a gas cooker, and NWCA coffee products.

The representative of the Regional Delegate of MINADER remarked and congratulated the fact that NWCA’s commitment to Gender equality and women empowerment was glaringly represented in the selection of the beneficiaries as most of them were women.
This move comes as part of the action plans laid down by the project to empower women, youth and IDPs to actively get involved in the coffee value chain, particularly targeting beneficiaries from safe zones such as Donga Mantung, Fundong and Bamenda.
In the days ahead, these beneficiaries will champion the promotion of the consumption of Kola Coffee in their communities, and a percentage of the proceeds from their businesses will be contributed into a revolving fund aimed at purchasing more units for more farmers in more communities in the region.
The ceremony ended with a free coffee tasting event where one of the beneficiaries served the bystanding population of the Mile 3 area with free Kola Coffee from her mobile unit.

In a similar fashion, as the foremost organisation championing the farming of coffee and cocoa in the Northwest region, the NWCA also played host to the restructuring of the Northwest arm of the National Association of Cocoa and Coffee Farmers which resulted in the election of the Northwest bureau who were installed by the representative of the Regional Delegate of MINADER and charged with piloting the affairs of the association in the Northwest Region.
