NWCA reaffirms its commitment to its members with vital fertilizer donation.

As a prelude to its 2nd annual Board meeting, the NWCA reaffirmed its commitment to the sustainable development of its farmer members with the presentation of a vital fertilizer donation intended to boost coffee production across its member unions.

The fertilizers, which came as a donation from the Government of Cameroon through the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MINADER), were presented to the Presidents of each member union, who were then charged to ensure that they serve as a much-needed boost to the upcoming coffee season and improved yields for the over 30,000 peasant farmer-members who make up the NWCA.

The consignment consisted of over 1,100 bags of fertilizer, including NPK (20-10-10) and Urea (46%), alongside additional farm inputs such as pesticides, bio-fertilizers, and nursery materials aimed particularly at supporting Arabica coffee production within the region.

Following this inspiring start, the Board proceeded with its planned agenda at the NWCA Head Office. Chaired by the esteemed NWCA President Mr. Ndikwa Peter Bayo, the remainder of the meeting was dedicated to discussions aimed at ensuring the sustained growth and resilience of the region's exceptional coffee and cocoa sectors.

General Manager Waindim Timothy Ntam articulated the Board's collective resolve, highlighting the board’s efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of the association and the impact of support initiatives of the Government of Cameroon and its agricultural support programs such as PARF-CAFE (Projet d’Appui à la Relance de la Filière Café) on the coffee sector in general.

He also used the opportunity to reiterate the role of every actor in the coffee value chain, especially that of the general public, in encouraging and promoting the consumption of locally produced coffee and NWCA coffee products.

The Board's directives chart a clear path for resilience, innovation, and prosperity, reinforcing NWCA's leadership in bringing the Northwest Region's finest coffee to the world.
